A 64-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Placentia on Friday afternoon, August 29, 2025.
According to the Placentia Police Department, officers responded around 5:00 p.m. to the 200 block of East Orangethorpe Avenue for a reported collision involving a bicyclist.
First responders found the man lying in the roadway and immediately began rendering aid. Emergency medical personnel continued life-saving measures, including CPR, before transporting him to a hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Detectives continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
