Two big rigs collided on a stretch of southbound Interstate 5 in Merced County on Tuesday afternoon, August 26, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. near Canyon Road. Crews closed the southbound slow lane while working to clear the area.
The cause of the collision and the condition of the drivers have not yet been released. Authorities said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
