An e-bike rider suffered major injuries following a collision with a pickup truck in Redding on Tuesday afternoon, August 25, 2026.
According to the Redding Police Department, the crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. near Market Street and Arboretum Drive, by the United Gas Food Mart.
Police said a white pickup truck was preparing to travel eastbound on Arboretum Drive from the store parking lot. As the traffic signal turned green, the pickup proceeded while the e-bike rider was traveling northbound on the southbound sidewalk. According to investigators, the rider did not stop and collided with the pickup before being ejected.
The e-bike rider, described as a man in his early 50s, sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The pickup truck driver was not injured.
The Redding Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash.
