[08-24-2025] Baby Severely Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at 8th Street and T Street in Central BakersfieldA baby was severely injured in a two-vehicle collision in central Bakersfield on Sunday night, August 24, 2025.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash was reported at around 7:31 p.m. at the intersection of 8th Street and T Street.

Authorities said the collision involved a red pickup and a silver sedan. A baby riding in the sedan suffered severe injuries and was transported to a hospital. No other passengers were involved, and both drivers declined medical treatment at the scene.

Investigators said a woman was driving the silver sedan northbound on T Street while a man was driving the red pickup westbound on 8th Street when the collision occurred. Police noted that only the northbound and southbound lanes of the intersection are controlled by stop signs.

Both drivers cooperated with officers, and impairment was not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
