[08-19-2026] Kern County, CA – Two Injured in Crash Involving Semi-Truck Near Wasco

Two people were injured in a collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle near Wasco in Kern County on Wednesday afternoon, August 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 12:20 p.m. on McCombs Avenue, east of Highway 43.

CHP said a juvenile from Delano was driving a red Toyota Camry and making a left turn onto McCombs Avenue when the vehicle pulled into the path of an eastbound semi-truck.

Two people were inside the Toyota. Authorities reported injuries ranging from moderate to major. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

The semi-truck reportedly jackknifed following the collision. CHP said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.

The CHP continues to investigate the collision.
