Two children were injured in a golf cart accident at a busy intersection in Fresno on Sunday afternoon, August 18, 2024.
The incident occurred just before 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Herndon and Marks Avenues. According to Fresno Police Lt. Leslie Williams, four juveniles allegedly took a neighbor’s golf cart without permission. One of them was driving recklessly, causing the golf cart to overturn.
The two injured were treated at Valley Children’s Hospital. An 11-year-old sustained scratches, while a 7-year-old suffered a broken leg. The two older juveniles, aged 15 and 16, did not require medical treatment.
Officers are still working to determine whether the children had permission to borrow the neighbor’s golf cart.
