A 32-year-old male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Santa Ana on Friday evening, August 16, 2024.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:19 p.m. near the intersection of Fairview and Harvard Streets, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Officers and Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived at the scene and found a man on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was struck while crossing Fairview in a crosswalk while traffic was flowing.
Witnesses reported that the woman driving the vehicle initially left the scene but returned minutes later and cooperated with the investigation. Police stated that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor in the incident.
