INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[08-11-2024] Kings County, CA – Two People Injured Following Vehicle Vs. Truck Head-On Collision Near Hanford

Two people were injured following a vehicle vs. truck head-on collision near Hanford early Sunday morning, August 11, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Highway 43 near Grangeville Boulevard.  

A 33-year-old man from Porterville was driving a gold Toyota Camry southbound on Highway 43. At the same time, a red Peterbilt truck driven by a 48-year-old man from Hanford was traveling in the opposite direction. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota driver crossed over the double yellow lines directly into the path of the truck.

The vehicles collided head-on, and the Porterville man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the Toyota. Both drivers were transported to the hospital, with the 33-year-old suffering from major injuries. The current condition of the two injured drivers was not immediately available.

CHP reported that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have been factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
