A driver sustained major injuries after being ejected from a vehicle during a street racing crash in Modesto on Sunday afternoon, August 10, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on northbound Highway 99, north of Standiford Avenue.
Authorities said a Corvette and a Mustang were racing when the Corvette’s driver lost control, left the right shoulder, and overturned several times before coming to rest on Sisk Road.
The Corvette’s driver, identified as 26-year-old Tyler A. of Citrus Heights, suffered major injuries. A passenger in the Corvette, 28-year-old Ayesha M. of Richmond, sustained minor injuries.
CHP said the Mustang’s driver continued to their residence in Manteca. Officers located 22-year-old Raul T. Jr. at the residence and arrested him.
The incident remains under investigation.
