A 69-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the South Valley near Hanford on Saturday night, August 10, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on 10th Avenue near Iona Avenue, just south of Hanford.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was walking across the street when he was hit by a southbound Honda Accord.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the Honda Accord and his passenger were unharmed in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional details have not yet been disclosed.
