[08-09-2024] 23-Year-Old Rider Critically Injured After Motorcycle Vs. Big Rig Collision in Chollas Creek A 23-year-old rider was critically injured after a motorcycle vs. big rig collision in San Diego on Friday morning, August 9, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. in the 3800 block of 54th Street in the Chollas Creek area.

SDPD said that the 23-year-old motorcyclist was traveling northbound on a 2015 MV Dragster 800 RR when a big rig pulling a cargo trailer exited a parking lot directly into his path. The motorcyclist collided with the trailer, resulting in severe injuries.

Paramedics quickly responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby trauma center. He is currently being treated for broken bones and potentially life-threatening internal injuries. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.

No further details were released, and authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading to the incident.
