[08-08-2026] Yolo County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Rear-End Crash on I-5 in Woodland

A motorcyclist was killed after a rear-end collision on Interstate 5 in Woodland, Yolo County, on Saturday night, August 8, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly before 9:15 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just south of County Road 102.

CHP said the motorcyclist was traveling south on a Yamaha motorcycle when the bike struck the rear of a Toyota sedan traveling in the same direction. The rider was transported to a hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

Authorities have not released the motorcyclist’s identity or age pending notification of the family. CHP said it remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the collision.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
