According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around noon at the intersection of Milton Road and Highway 4.

Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies arrived first and found a Jeep Compass with major damage and its driver inside. Emergency crews provided advanced life support before the driver, identified as 38-year-old Jorge R. of Concord, was airlifted to a local hospital, where he died the following day.

CHP said preliminary investigation indicates Jorge was traveling northbound on Milton Road and either stopped at the posted stop sign or rolled through without yielding, entering the path of two vehicles.

The other drivers were identified as 67-year-old Mark C. of Brentwood, driving a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on State Route 4, and 47-year-old Samuel S. of Hathaway Pines, driving a 2000 Ford pickup westbound. The collision struck Jorge’s vehicle on both sides, and all three vehicles came to rest in the intersection.

Samuel sustained minor injuries. Authorities said all occupants were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors.

The investigation is ongoing.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
