One person was hospitalized with major injuries following a head-on collision in Sonoma County on Friday morning, August 8, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Highway 12 at Duer Road and involved two vehicles.
One driver, trapped in a smoking vehicle, was extricated by firefighters and taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. A passenger from one of the vehicles was transported to Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center.
The crash briefly shut down both lanes of the highway, causing major delays. Caltrans District 4 advised drivers to use alternate routes, though all lanes reopened later.
Further details on the injured individuals have not been immediately released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
