INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[08-05-2024] Sutter County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Seriously Injured Following Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash Along Highway 20

One person was killed, while another was seriously injured following a two-vehicle head-on crash in Sutter County on Monday morning, August 5, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic collision happened around 5:00 a.m. along Highway 20 west of Acacia Avenue.

CHP stated that a 54-year-old man from Williams was traveling eastbound along Highway 20 on a Ford F-150 when he tried to overtake a vehicle in front but miscalculated. This resulted in a head-on collision with a westbound Dodge Charger, which resulted in severe injuries and significant damage to both vehicles.

The Ford driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away. Meanwhile, the Dodge driver suffered major injuries and was taken to Adventist Health and Rideout for further medical care. Both drivers haven’t been named yet.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. CHP said that drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash.

Additional information was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
