Authorities have identified the four people who died after a vehicle submerged in water in Woodbridge, San Joaquin County, early Monday morning, August 4, 2025.
According to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victims were 21-year-old Luz B. and 45-year-old Esteban G., both of Stockton, along with 20-year-old Julio C. and 27-year-old Leocadio G., both from Mexico.
The Woodbridge Fire District said crews responded around 4:00 a.m. to a submerged vehicle just below the water’s surface along Rindge Road, south of Eight Mile Road.
Two victims were immediately pulled from the vehicle and transported to a hospital, while two others were recovered at the scene by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office dive team. The two taken to the hospital later died from their injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
