Injuries are still being examined following a tractor-trailer vs. vehicle crash in Chula Vista on Friday morning, August 2, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just before 6:00 a.m. on southbound I-805 at the Bonita Road exit.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene after reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a semi tractor-trailer. Upon their arrival, the vehicle was found overturned on the roadway. It is unknown how the collision occurred, but emergency personnel are examining the injuries.
The extent of possible injuries sustained by the parties involved was not immediately disclosed. There is no word yet on the total number of people affected by the crash. Speeding and impaired driving were being investigated as possible factors in the incident.
The responding officers have yet to release additional information about the accident. Witnesses are encouraged to come forward and contact the police.
