At least one person was injured after a vehicle struck a tree, causing a large branch to fall onto another vehicle in San Diego County on Friday afternoon, August 1, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 12:48 p.m. near the intersection of Green Canyon Road and Winterhaven Road. The North County Fire Protection District reported the incident in the 2500 block of Green Canyon Road.
Airbags were deployed in the vehicle that struck the tree, and medical personnel responded to treat injuries at the scene. One person was transported to a nearby hospital by NCFPD ambulance. The extent of injuries has not been confirmed.
A tow truck was requested, and the left lane was temporarily blocked during the response.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
