[07-31-2026] Placer County, CA – Child Hospitalized After Dog Attack at Vista Grande Park in Rocklin

A 3-year-old girl was hospitalized after a dog attack at Vista Grande Park in Rocklin on Friday night, July 31, 2026.

According to the Rocklin Police Department, officers responded around 8:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a dog attack at the park. 

The child’s father said his daughter was walking through the park when she was attacked by a pit bull that was wearing a leash but was not being held. He reported that the dog bit the girl in the face, including her mouth and eye. She was transported to a hospital, where she is receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Authorities confirmed the incident but have not released official details regarding the circumstances leading up to the attack.

Police have not announced whether any citations or criminal charges will be filed. The authorities continue to investigate the incident.
