A woman was injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Bakersfield early Friday morning, July 31, 2026.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred at around 4:42 a.m. at the intersection of Union Avenue and 4th Street.
Authorities said the pedestrian was crossing Union Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered moderate injuries and was treated. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers during the investigation.
Police reported that speed and intoxication were not considered factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
