A pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in Fresno County on Wednesday night, July 31, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. on Fowler Avenue and Behymer Avenue, just outside of Clovis.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene after reports of a person who was fatally struck by an SUV. That person, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, was pronounced dead by the responding officers.
The cause of the collision is unclear. It is unknown if the driver of the SUV that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene. Officials are gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading up to the crash.
