A 50-year-old man was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Fresno early Sunday morning, July 28, 2024.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the fatal crash happened at about 2:00 a.m. on First Street, just south of Gettysburg Avenue.
Police said that a 50-year-old man was in the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle. The victim suffered major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene without helping the man. There is no word yet on the identity of the hit-and-run driver, as well as the description of the suspect vehicle.
It is unknown if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role. The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing.
