[07-25-2026] Tulare County, CA – Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash Involving Suspected DUI Driver in Visalia

A motorcyclist was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle in Visalia on Saturday night, July 25, 2026.

According to the Visalia Police Department, the collision occurred around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Giddings Street.

Authorities said a dark-colored Nissan SUV was traveling eastbound on Walnut Avenue before turning north toward the Best Buy parking lot. The turn placed the SUV in the path of a westbound motorcycle on Walnut Avenue, causing the motorcycle to collide with the SUV.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators but was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The investigation remains ongoing.
