[07-25-2024] 20-Year-Old Female Passenger Seriously Injured Following Motorcycle Crash in Mission BeachA 20-year-old female passenger was seriously injured following a motorcycle crash in San Diego on Thursday night, July 25, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at about 11:08 p.m. in a parking lot at 700 Ventura Place in the Mission Beach neighborhood.

SDPD said that a 21-year-old man riding a Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle was supposedly speeding and doing wheelies around the parking lot with a 20-year-old woman passenger. As the rider exited the parking lot, the motorcycle’s front wheel came down violently, causing him to lose control and crash.

The passenger reportedly suffered a skull fracture, an elbow fracture, and forehead avulsions after getting thrown from the motorcycle. Although serious, her injuries were described as non-life-threatening. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Drugs and alcohol are currently being investigated as possible factors in the incident.
