A female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a semitractor-trailer in Carson on Wednesday night, July 24, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at around 9:32 p.m. on the 110 Freeway, near the Carson Street off-ramp and the unincorporated West Carson area.
Authorities stated that a woman was running across the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway when she was struck by a semitractor-trailer. The pedestrian, whose name and age were not revealed, was found lying in the middle lanes of the freeway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semitractor-trailer remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It is unclear why the victim was running on the freeway and if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role in the crash.
