One person was injured and another was taken into custody following a two-vehicle collision in Thousand Palms, Riverside County, on Wednesday afternoon, July 23, 2025.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded at approximately 2:52 p.m. to a report of a suspicious circumstance near Pet Land Place and Rio Del Sol Drive.
Upon arrival, they determined that a collision had occurred between two vehicles. One of the drivers attempted to flee the scene while an individual from the other vehicle jumped onto the hood of the departing car.
Authorities stated that the person on the hood fell to the ground as the vehicle left the scene and sustained unspecified injuries.
Deputies later located the fleeing driver near Desert Moon Drive and El Centro Way. That individual was taken into custody without incident. Neither party involved was immediately identified.
The incident remains under investigation.
