[07-23-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – Female Pedestrian Killed Following Hit-And-Run Collision in Baldwin Hills

A female pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run collision in Los Angeles early Tuesday morning, July 23, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash happened at about 1:55 a.m. at the intersection of Obama Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard in the Baldwin Hills neighborhood.

LAPD said that the woman, whose name, age, and place of origin were not disclosed, was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck by an unspecified vehicle that did not stop after the crash. Initial investigation suggested that the vehicle was driving north on La Cienega Boulevard when the accident occurred.

Responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene shortly after arriving. Further information about the identity of the deceased will be made available following the notification of next of kin.

Details on the incident’s circumstances are limited, but LAPD said some evidence was left on the scene that could expedite the investigation. However, they did not elaborate further on this. 

The suspect vehicle is believed to have been a dark-colored Toyota Camry. At the time of this writing, the hit-and-run driver is still at large.
