[07-22-2026] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Person Injured in Car and Scooter Crash in Atascadero

A person was injured following a collision involving a car and a scooter in Atascadero on Wednesday evening, July 22, 2026.

According to the Atascadero Police Department, the crash occurred around 5 p.m. in the 7100 block of El Camino Real near Vons.

Authorities said the collision left one person with moderate injuries. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police reported that one of the motorists fled the scene on foot after the crash but was later located and detained near the intersection of Curbaril and San Luis avenues. Authorities did not identify which motorist fled.

The Atascadero Police Department continued processing the scene and investigating the collision.
