A man and his 7-year-old son sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash in Citrus Heights on Sunday night, July 21, 2025.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, officers responded to a vehicle-versus-motorcycle collision at the intersection of Twin Oaks and Patton Avenue at approximately 8:44 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found 31-year-old Colton P. riding a dirt bike with his young son as a passenger.
Investigators determined that the rider failed to stop at a posted stop sign and was struck by another vehicle. Both he and his son suffered serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. They are expected to recover.
CHPD stated that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Colton P. is facing felony DUI charges. The investigation is ongoing.
