[07-20-2024] One Person Killed After Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision Involving Hit-And-Run in VeniceOne person was killed after a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision involving a hit-and-run in Venice, Los Angeles, on Saturday evening, July 20, 2024. 

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 11:19 p.m. in the 700 block of Venice Boulevard. 

Authorities stated that a pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, was crossing on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, they were struck by a vehicle. Shortly after, the victim was hit and dragged by another vehicle. 

Upon arrival, the firefighters found the victim pinned underneath a black BMW. They raised the car off the ground and rescued the pedestrian. Despite the life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the second vehicle that hit the pedestrian stopped near the site of the crash, while the driver of the first vehicle involved in the incident refused to stop and fled the scene. 

The make and model of the first vehicle have not been revealed yet, and it is unclear what caused the collision. The hit-and-run driver remains at large.

Investigations are ongoing.
