[07-20-2024] Five People Injured After Food Truck Explosion Incident in WhittierFive people were injured after a food truck explosion incident in Whittier on Saturday morning, July 20, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the accident occurred around 9:16 a.m. at the 6700 block of Greenleaf Avenue.

The responding paramedics treated a total of five people at the scene. Two of them were listed in critical condition, while the other three reportedly sustained moderate to minor injuries. At this time, it is unclear if all five victims were sent to the hospital.

All five victims were working on the food truck when the accident happened, according to the officials. No one else was injured. None of the victims have been identified publicly so far.

The blast is believed to have occurred after one of the propane tanks inside the food truck exploded. The Whittier Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the incident.

No further details were immediately provided. Police work is underway.
