Two Fresno residents were killed in a crash involving a disabled semi-truck on eastbound Highway 152 in Madera County early Saturday morning, July 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 2 a.m. east of Road 14 1/2.
A Freightliner semi-truck, driven by a 32-year-old Fresno man, was traveling at approximately 15 mph in the No. 2 lane with engine problems when a black Honda Clarity, driven by 50-year-old Samantha X. and carrying 17-year-old passenger Gisselle D., struck the rear of the truck.
The Honda became lodged underneath the trailer, and both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver pulled over to the shoulder following the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
