[07-18-2024] Two People Injured After Single-Vehicle Crash Near North HighlandsTwo people were injured after a single-vehicle crash near North Highlands, Sacramento County, on Thursday evening, July 18, 2024. 

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the crash happened shortly before 7:10 p.m. on Business 80. 

Authorities stated that an unspecified vehicle went over the embankment at the I-80 connector to Business 80 for unknown reasons. There is no word yet if there are other vehicles involved in the crash. 

The total number of people involved in the crash was not immediately disclosed, but the officials said that two people were transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries, as well as the current condition of the victims, were not provided as of this writing. Their names, ages, and genders have not yet been identified by the investigators. 

Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are being investigated as possible factors in the collision. The official cause of the crash remains unclear.

Further information has yet to be released. Investigations are ongoing.
