[07-17-2024] San Bernardino County, CA – 33-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured Following Two-Vehicle Pin-In Collision in Apple Valley

A 33-year-old man was seriously injured following a two-vehicle pin-in collision in Apple Valley on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024.

According to the Apple Valley Fire Protection District, the traffic incident happened around 8:00 a.m. on Kiowa Road between Ponca Road and Cayuga Road.

The two vehicles involved in the crash were later identified as a white Chevy S10 and a burgundy Nissan Frontier. Witnesses told the authorities that several vehicles had to stop along Kiowa Road to avoid hitting a dog. The Chevy failed to do so safely, crashing into the back of the Nissan.

Upon arrival, responding firefighters found the Chevy driver, only described as a 33-year-old man, trapped inside his vehicle. After extensive extrication procedures, the man was pulled out from the wreckage and was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

According to the initial reports, the Nissan’s occupants — a man and a woman — were not injured. None of the people involved were named yet.

No further information was immediately available. The authorities are still examining all the evidence on-scene to determine the factors contributing to the serious crash.

The Apple Valley Police Department is currently handling the investigation into the incident.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
