Two people were injured after a motorcycle vs. tractor-trailer collision in Oxnard on Sunday night, July 14, 2024.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the crash happened around 7:11 p.m. at South Rose and Mountain View avenues.
Authorities stated that a tractor-trailer was heading eastbound on Mountain Avenue when it came to a stop at Rose Avenue and entered the intersection to make a left turn. Meanwhile, a Suzuki GSX motorcycle was traveling southbound on Rose Avenue and veered to avoid crashing into the tractor-trailer.
Despite the rider’s effort, the motorcycle still crashed into the front side of the tractor, ejecting its two occupants. Both of them suffered major injuries and were transported to the Ventura County Medical Center. None of them were identified yet.
The driver of the tractor remained at the scene. The officers believed that the motorcyclist was not impaired at the time of the crash, but speeding may have been a factor in the incident.
OPD is still investigating the collision. Additional details will be disclosed once they become available.
