INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[07-14-2024] Mendocino County, CA – One Person Killed After Two-Vehicle Collision Near Willits

One person was killed after a two-vehicle collision near Willits, Mendocino County, on Sunday night, July 14, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 11:00 p.m. on Valley Road, east of Davidson Road and east of Willits. 

Authorities stated that a 1985 Toyota pickup truck was traveling east on Bailey Road when it drifted partially into the westbound lane and sideswiped a 2022 Honda Accord. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Julian F., 30, of Willits, was ejected from his vehicle. Upon arrival, the police pronounced him dead at the scene. 

It is unknown if the driver of the Honda, described as a 16-year-old girl, sustained injuries following the crash. There is no word yet on her current condition. 

As of this writing, the cause of the crash is under investigation. It remains unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role in the incident. 

No additional details were available, and the police are gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading up to the collision.
