[07-13-2026] Riverside County, CA – Electric Scooter Rider Severely Injured in Collision With Car in Indio

A 40-year-old riding an electric scooter was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries after being struck by a car in Indio on Monday evening, July 13, 2026.

According to the Indio Police Department, officers responded around 8:30 p.m. to a collision at Golf Center Parkway and Chandis Way.

Preliminary investigation found that a 38-year-old driver in a Honda CRV, traveling north on Golf Center Parkway, struck the rider in a crosswalk.

Emergency personnel airlifted the injured victim to a local hospital for treatment. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
