A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Modesto on Saturday night, July 13, 2024.
According to the Modesto Police Department, the fatal crash happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. near West Briggsmore Avenue and Carver Road.
Upon arrival, the police found the pedestrian with major injuries after they were struck by a vehicle. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital for medical care, but they succumbed to their injuries shortly after. As of now, there is no word yet on the identity of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene and cooperated with the ongoing investigation. It is unknown whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding contributed to the crash. The cause of the incident remains unclear.
