[07-12-2024] 57-Year-Old Rider Killed After Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Collision Along Highway 1A 57-year-old rider was killed after a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in Marin County on Friday evening, July 12, 2024. 

According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 6:17 p.m. on Highway 1 in the Tomales area, south of Snake Road. 

Authorities stated that a Kawasaki Ninja 650 motorcycle was traveling northbound at high speeds when it crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into a GMC Sierra duel axle truck. As a result, the rider was thrown from his bike, causing significant injuries before he became unconscious in the roadway.

Medics were immediately dispatched to the scene. After the assessment, they said that the rider was in cardiopulmonary arrest. The motorcyclist, identified as Steven C., 57, from Penngrove, was pronounced dead at around 6:30 p.m. 

Police said a postmortem exam and routine toxicology tests were planned to determine the cause and manner of the rider’s death. As of this writing, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

Additional information on the incident will be disclosed once it becomes available. Police work is underway.
