[07-11-2024] At Least One Person Injured Following Wrong-Way Collision Along 405 Freeway Near Getty CenterAt least one person was injured following a wrong-way collision in Los Angeles early Thursday morning, July 11, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on the northbound 405 Freeway near Getty Center Drive in the Brentwood neighborhood.

CHP stated that the driver of a pickup truck was traveling northbound using the southbound lane before crashing into at least one other vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found both vehicles involved with significant damage on their front ends. 

It has been reported that at least one person got trapped inside the wreckage of one of the vehicles, prompting an extrication procedure. The name, age, and gender of that one person were not immediately known. The victim’s extent of injury and current status are also unclear.

So far, why the pickup driver was going the wrong way along the freeway is still a mystery. CHP is investigating the official cause of the accident and the possibility of alcohol or drug impairment being involved. 

All the northbound freeway lanes were closed as a precaution while the authorities investigated and cleared the crash site.

No further information was provided at this time.
