[07-09-2025] San Diego County, CA – One Killed, Four Injured in Head-On Crash on SR-67 Near Brantner Lane

A man was killed and four others were injured following a head-on collision on State Route 67 near Brantner Lane in Ramona, San Diego County, on Wednesday evening, July 9, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. when a 2019 Lexus ES 300h traveling southbound veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2000 Ford Excursion. The vehicles crashed near the rural intersection just outside Dos Picos County Park.

The 35-year-old driver of the Lexus, a Ramona resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his identity, pending notification of next of kin.

Emergency crews transported the 65-year-old driver of the Ford and four passengers to nearby hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.

CHP stated the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played a role.
