A child sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle hit-and-run crash in the Westchester area near Los Angeles International Airport early Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the vehicle struck a median around 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and 96th Avenue.
Police said the driver, described only as a woman, fled the scene with four children, leaving behind two adults in the vehicle. One adult was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The children were later located, and one of them was found to have sustained a serious injury. All four children were transported to a hospital for evaluation.
As of Tuesday morning, the female driver remained at large.
The crash prompted lane closures on Sepulveda Boulevard and caused significant traffic delays near LAX. The incident is being investigated as a felony hit-and-run.
