A woman in a motorized wheelchair was killed after being struck by a big rig in Arden-Arcade, Sacramento County, on Friday morning, July 5, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just before 10:30 a.m. at Fulton Avenue and Alta Arden Expressway.
Authorities stated that the victim, described as a woman, was pronounced dead after she was hit by a big rig. The woman’s name, age, and place of origin were not immediately disclosed. As of this writing, it is unknown what she was doing on the roadway at the time of the crash.
The driver of the big rig that struck the woman has yet to be identified. Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are being investigated as possible factors in the collision.
