[07-02-2026] Kern County, CA – Minor Injuries Reported After Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Near Lebec

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Lebec in Kern County caused traffic delays Thursday afternoon, July 2, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 1:15 p.m. on the northbound I-5 just south of the East Escape Ramp.

Authorities said the crash involved multiple vehicles, including at least a Tesla and a gray sedan. CHP reported that at least one person suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the collision has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
