A 38-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the University City neighborhood of San Diego on Wednesday night, July 2, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:19 p.m. at the intersection of La Jolla Village Drive and Town Centre Drive. The victim was crossing near the west crosswalk when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered multiple injuries, including abrasions to his head, face, and legs, as well as fractured ribs and a fractured tibia. He was transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.
Authorities reported that there were no witnesses to the crash, no available vehicle description, and it remains unclear whether alcohol was involved.
The SDPD Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
