[07-01-2024] Male Rider Seriously Injured Following Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Hit-And-Run Crash Along Highway 49A male rider was seriously injured following a motorcycle vs. vehicle hit-and-run crash in El Dorado County on Monday afternoon, July 1, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 49 at East China Hill Road, southwest of El Dorado. 

CHP said that the rider, later identified as Daniel G., was on a Honda motorcycle traveling along Highway 49 when, for some reason, he was hit by a black Hyundai Elantra. It is said that the driver made no effort to help the victim or even call 911 before driving off.

The victim suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for further medical care. His current condition is unknown.

An official description of the suspect is yet to be released, but a witness claimed that the hit-and-run driver was a blond female in her late 30s or mid-40s. CHP confirmed that the vehicle the suspect was driving lost a bumper as a result of the collision.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. It is not immediately known if drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role in it.
