A bicyclist sustained serious injuries after being struck by a suspected DUI driver who then fled the scene in Perris on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred just before noon in the 1600 block of Perris Boulevard.
Authorities say 41-year-old Kenneth V. of Perris was driving a Honda Pilot southbound when he allegedly crashed into the rear of a bicyclist traveling in the same direction.
Deputies arrived to find the bicyclist lying in the center median with serious injuries. The victim was transported to a hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
The driver was arrested the following day on Momento Avenue. He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center for felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol, then released the same day on $75,000 bail.
Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
