[06-29-2024] Sonoma County, CA – Four People Injured Following Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision in Sebastopol

Four people were injured following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Sebastopol on Saturday morning, June 29, 2024.

According to the Sebastopol Police Department, the crash happened around 10:45 a.m. outside St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 500 Robinson Road.

Authorities stated that a 79-year-old woman from Santa Rosa was trying to park her Mazda 6 during an open-air clothing sale when she lost control of the vehicle and drove over a sign and landscaping. Following that, she crashed with clothing racks and four pedestrians.

The pedestrians sustained minor to moderate injuries and fell to the ground after being struck by the vehicle. Police described the victims as four Sebastopol women, ages 63, 65, 67, and 71. Two of them were taken to the hospital, while the other two were treated at the scene.

Police said the woman was referred to the DMV for a priority re-evaluation to confirm whether her license should be validated following the collision. Drugs and alcohol were ruled out as factors in the incident after the authorities concluded that the incident was accidental.

Further details will be released once they become available.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
