A vehicle caught fire following a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 15 in San Diego on Saturday night, June 28, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on the southbound lanes of I-15 just north of State Route 163. At least four vehicles were involved in the crash.
Authorities said one vehicle was reportedly moving with hazard lights on at around 50 mph when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. The impact sent one of the cars into a highway divider wall, where it caught fire.
Caltrans reported that all southbound lanes were shut down shortly after 10:00 p.m. due to the severity of the incident.
No information has been released yet regarding injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
