Six people were injured in a three-vehicle collision caused by speeding on Highway 41 near Hanford Armona Road in Kings County on Friday night, June 27, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 41.
A 1998 Chevrolet S10 pickup was traveling in the number two lane when it approached stopped traffic near the intersection with Hanford Armona Road.
CHP stated that the pickup truck, driven at an unsafe speed, failed to stop in time and rear-ended a 2019 Ford Transit Van that was stopped for a red light. The force of the impact pushed the Ford into the back of a Honda Civic stopped ahead.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who was unrestrained, sustained major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. His current condition is unknown.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver and four passengers reported minor injuries, while the Honda driver was unharmed.
